Welcome to St. Mark’s and the Now Playing Newport Music Series . . . .

Without music, life would be a mistake.” ~Friedrich Nietzsche

After a 5 year hiatus, the Music for a Sunday Afternoon Series returned in December of 2013 as Now Playing Newport, realizing the need for a regular Music Series in the Newport Area. The response has been great!

2015 marks the Second Season which will have a full monthly calendar of great music featuring local and statewide artists. The small venue (seating 100) is perfect for a more intimate and enjoyable experience for both the audience and artist, having great acoustics. We hope you’ll make Now Playing Newport one of your favorite concert venues.

For 2015, we may also expanding our venues for programs. Watch for details.

The Now Playing Newport Music Series received a $1000 Small & Inspiring Grant from the Vermont Community Foundation to
begin the Series in December, 2013.

We have again again received a $1000 grant from the Vermont Community Foundation’s  Northeast Kingdom Fund. This grant
will again assist in continuing bringing quality musical performance to the Newport area.

The Northeast Kingdom Fund is a permanent philanthropic resource dedicated to supporting the people and communities of
Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans County. It’s grants are decided by a committee of local residents, providing philanthropy for the
     Kingdom, by the Kingdom.
